Guest Speaker
The club met at the LRGHealthcare cafeteria for an update on
the Dental Resource Center. Guests included: Thomas Clairmont,
President of LRGHealthcare, Sharon Swanson, Director of the LRGH
Dental Resource Center, Dr. Frank Quaratiello, the newest member
of the LRGH Dental Resource Center, and Dr. Louis Ricciardiello,
Honorary Kiwanian, oral surgeon and coordinator the Kiwanis School
Dental Program.
Sharon Swanson reported the LRGH Dental Resource Center is lacking enough dental chair units and dental staff. LRGH Dental Resource Center is attempting to increase the dental workforce availability in the Lakes Region through recruitment and retention for direct services in NH. Toward that end, LRGHealthcare is working on a Community Grant Program whereby the LRGH Dental Resource Center would collaborate with the Tufts University School of Dental Medince Externship Program. Under this program, two dental students would be assigned to the LRGH Dental Resource Center on a 16 week rotation basis under the supervision of a licensed dentist. There are presently nineteen practice facilities located in the New England states, New York, Florida and California. All of these dental facilities are under the directorship of individuals who are members of the faculty of the Tufts University School Dental Medicine. Dr. Frank Quaratiello, a teacher and veteran dentist will provide the supervision to the graduate students at the LRGH Dental Resource Center.
In efforts to increase dental chair units, Sharon Swanson asked the Kiwanis Club for financial support to help fund one of four additional dental chairs that are needed at the Dental Resouce Center. The cost of each chair unit is $37,000.
Bike Update
V.P. Phil Bonafide reported the club
raised $1,531 in two days at the Winnipesaukee Expo Center held
this past weekend in Lakeport. On Sunday, May 6th, the bike will
travel to Keene and four or five volunteers will be needed to
sell tickets for the day.
Traveling News
There will be an interclub meeting
at the Division 9 Caucus on May 2nd at 6:00 at LuLu's restaurant
which is located at Exit #20 (off Route 89) in West Lebanon.
Club Election
We will be voting for the following nominees at our annual meeting:
President, Phil Bonafide; First Vice Pres., Larry Murphy; Second
Vice Pres., John Grocki; Treasurer, Chet Cilley; Director (four
to be elected), Dianne Roberts, Nancy Parrott, Jim Fortier, Randy
Eifert, Dan Faenza, and Dan Fisher.

Annual Meeting, club elections, the Boards meet, NISE, Lt. Gov.
Bev Fuller will attend.
Next Week
We begin meeting at Pheasant Ridge Country Club. Key Club installation of officers. The Key Club Lt.
Governor from Maine will be present for the installation.
