Please remember that school clocks are six minutes fast, so be there early. Kathy Calvin also reminds the club that on January 5th, at our next meeting, Joe Adringola will have a sign up sheet for the next Kiwanis KARES, which will be at Elm Street School on Monday, January 12th. Please check your schedule and sign up if you are available.

IF YOU GET THE CHANCE…
Stop in and visit Ed Chertok, who is back from Florida and not in good health. Ed is back at Woodside at the Taylor Community and is inviting guests between 10am and 2pm. Visits are preferred over phone calls, as Ed may not be able to hear you so well on the phone. We certainly will keep our eldest member in our thoughts and hope for a speedy recovery

What's your name?...

Steve Loughlin advised the membership that he will soon be printing up a new batch of name tags. Anyone needing name tags for themselves, spouces, or significant others should email Steve Loughlin with the name(s) you would like printed. Deadline for your request is December 29, 2008.

Hello from Florida…
Joe Collie received an e-mail from Senior Member Jim Fortier’s wife, Arlene. The Fortiers are settled in Florida for the winter. Here is what they had to say:

Please give all the Kiwanians our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year! Hope everyone is doing o.k. with the terrible weather we've been hearing about. We've had some cool days-60's and nights in the low 40's but also some nice warm days in the 70's and low 80's. This week should be in the high 70's so will be very pleasant. We are keeping busy exploring places we hadn't been to before and Jim has been putting in some shrubs and flowers, feeding turtles in one of the ponds and also feeding peanuts to the squirrels in one of the parks here in Barefoot Bay.

We will be flying home on Jan. 21st. to see our new grandchild due on Jan. 12th to our daughter Lisa. We are hoping the weather won't be too bad while we are there for the week. Jim will be able to attend the Kiwanis meeting on Jan. 26th. The Kiwanis Club here in the Bay was disbanded for lack of membership.

Happy Holidays to All! Enjoy the Christmas party tonight.

Jim and Arlene
