Thanx
Pres. Don Nelson presented a letter from Aaron Stewart, a student from Laconia High School, in appreciation for our donation to allow him to attend HOBY's weekend-long seminar which was "informative, fun, interesting, and interactive."

Come to the Cape
The 83rd Annual District Convention will be held in Hyannis, Mass. August 23-26. Pres. Don Nelson, Sec.'y Kathy Calvin, Sr. Member Dick Breton, and Treas. Chet Cilley have R.S.V.P.'d. All others are encouraged to attend.

Dental Resources
Pres. Don Nelson visited the Dental Resource Center last week for a tour and photo opportunities. Dr. Soucy, Tufts Dean of Exterior Programs was on hand. The school will be providing students to the center who will work under the supervision of a full-time oral surgeon. Sr. Member Roger Ballantyne was also there representing the hospital.

Win a Classic Next Year?
Next week Pres. Don Nelson will be calling for a vote of the general membership as to whether we should raffle another motorcycle next year. And, relatedly, whether we should exercise our option to purchase the box trailer we've been renting. We have paid $800 for it's use which may be applied to the $2800 purchase price. These decisions must be made as soon as possible due to the necessity of getting an order in early for a new bike. A two-thirds majority is necessary for passage.

Pres. Don Nelson gets animated.

Win a Classic!
Past Pres. Nancy Williams reports that $610 was taken in over the weekend at the Rally Headquarters tent. She suggests that an effort should be made next year to be on the boardwalk for more foot traffic. Pres. Don Nelson and V.P. Phil Bonafide set-up at our site for the week Monday morning. Power was already there and Phil sold $80-worth of tickets as they were setting up. That's about what the 2nd shift was able to sell from 5p-8p during the thunderstorm Monday night. Steve Loughlin delivered the final monies from sales at Laconia Savings Bank. This year they raised $3090 for us. Commuter notes: Lakeside Ave. closes by 10a every day; the Weirs Bridge will close to cars Thursday, the same day the trains start running out of Lakeport and Meredith; free parking is available at Thurston Marine's storage area along the Drive-in Theater's fence and at Joe Adrignola's house off Rte. 11B. Past Pres. Michael Bastraw reviewed the schedule. We are still a little thin on Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening--our peak times. Please contact Chair Phil Bonafide if you can help fill-in this crucial time. And, again, if you've signed up for a shift and can't make it, arrange your own replacement. (Schedule follows photos.)

Ray Bourque winning the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche after 21 years in the league.

A Bear Market?
Sr. Member Dick Breton brought back a couple of stuffed bears from the Lake George, New York motorcycle rally. These souvenir figures are customized and sold by the Glen Lake Kiwanis Club for $10. Something to think about for next year?
