Thanx
We received thank-you notes from St. Vincent de Paul for our June $100 donation and from Joan Cormier, Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, for our $200 donation towards their new Operating Fund.

Gilford Old Home Day
Roger Landry needs any promised donations towards our August 24 appearance at Gilford Old Home Day. The sign-up sheet is still a little thin. More help is needed for shifts 12n-3p, 3p-6p, and 6p-9p.

Interclub
Warren Mitchell reminds us that the next interclub will be to the York club, York Harbor Inn, Thursday, August 15. The crew will leave from A.G. Edwards at 4:30p to make the 7:00p meeting. We have seven on board so far with Pres. Phil Bonafide taking his car if anyone needs a ride.

Fines
Sgt.-at-Arms Nancy Parrott found Nancy Williams, Warren Mitchell, Nate Robertson, and Roger Ballantyne pinless.

Lakes Region United Way Public Service Release:
Castle in the Clouds hosts bluegrass festival
Up to the Mountain to benefit local charities
Castle in the Clouds (Moultonboro, NH) will host Up to the Mountain, a daylong bluegrass festival benefiting local charities. From 10am until 9pm on August 24th, the Castle's mountain meadow will be filled with family entertainment, the sounds and song of New England's top bluegrass performers. Joining Grammy Award winning national recording artists Phillips, Grier & Flinner, will be the New England Bluegrass Band, Harvey Reid and Joyce Anderson, and Gopher Broke. Special guests, the Wildwood Valley Boys will be arriving on the big bus all the way from Kentucky. Each group will play twice during the festival. Well known for family fun, Castle in the Clouds offers horseback riding, hiking trails and tours of the historic mansion. Add to these attractions a festival of bluegrass music, a benefit horseshoe tournament, raffles, parking lot pickin and free overnight camping and it's sure to be a day to remember. The grills will be hot serving up great food all day. The meadow will hold several thousand spectators, with event promoters hoping for a full field for the eleven-hour event. Reservations for the festival can be made by calling Castle in the Clouds, 603-476-2352, and tickets will be sold at the festival. Adults are $30, teens half price, and children 12 and under are free. Visitors interested in both the festival and regular attractions should request information on combined admission packages. Proceeds benefit people served by Lakes Region United Way. Sponsors for Up to the Mountain include the Common Man Family of Restaurants, Castle Springs, The Shipyard Brewing Company, Apple & Eve Fruit Juices and Mr. Sippy Productions. Additional sponsors and vendors should contact the United Way at 603-524-6864. For more information about this charity event, contact Bruce Van Derven, LRUW, 603-524-6864. Thank you!!!
