Learn a Thing or Two
This year's Fall Training Conference will be at the Grand Hotel, North Conway, November 16-18. Lt. Gov. Ken Georgevits reminds all that "it is not either a) required that you attend or b) required if you do go that you are there all three days. I encourage you, however, to take advantage of as many of these events as possible. They are supported by part of our District and International dues, so we already pay for them plus they are both educational and fun." Contact Sec.'y Kathy Calvin if you would like to attend.

Meet the Guv
The New England District's Governor's Visit will be at the Grappone Center, Concord, N.H. on February 2, 2002. Lt. Gov. Ken Georgevits would "like a good turnout" for Gov. Stephen T. Hill. "Steve is driving up from Southern Connecticut and, out of respect, (I) think we should provide a good crowd.

Disaster Workers Respite Program
Kinney O'Rourke has been hired to coordinate a project to treat emergency service personnel from New York City to weekend stays in the Lakes Region. The various labor unions will be helping with the selection process. Area accommodations, restaurants, and attracts are contributing services. Almost $20,000 has been collected so far in donations. He would like us to handle deposits and disbursements through our 501C3 account so patrons may claim appropriate deductions. The program is scheduled to run from November through May.

Kinney O'Rourke makes his pitch.
