New Marshall in Town
Pres. Phil Bonafide has appointed Nancy Parrott Sergeant-at-Arms. Here's hoping that she'll be able to keep order with such an outspoken crew. Bring back the thumbscrews.

In Your Spare Time
Pres. Phil Bonafide also directed House Chair Nancy Parrott to continue the search for our January/February meeting place and to schedule our Christmas parties.

Win a Classic!
Immediate Past Pres. Don Nelson reports that we have the new raffle motorcycle which is in residence at Roger Landry's home. Pres. Phil Bonafide sent out a sign-up sheet for our first roadshow at the Grass Drags on October 20 and 21. Let's hope for the good weather we had last year.

Pres. Phil Bonafide is ready to sell.

Picking Up the Pieces
The Youth Services Bureau has demanded restitution from the culprits who vandalized one of our gumball machines. Past Pres. Joe Adrignola suggested that we be compensated for "loss of revenue."

Sgt.@Arms Nancy Parrott found Marty Hirschberg, Joe Adrignola, Larry Murphy, Randy Eifert, and Bob Turner pinless; and Chet Cilley for being tardy.

What a winner!

Dining Around
Pres. Phil Bonafide reports the death of another fundraiser: the Dining Around with Kiwanis coupon books.

No Account
The Boards voted not to handle the funds for the Emergency Services respite project.

Guest Speaker
This writer introduced Gunstock Recreation Area's General Manager, Greg Goddard. He stated that the hot issue is new skier creation and retention prompted by a study by the National Ski Area Initiative that indicates visitors are aging faster than the general population. To help pinpoint how Gunstock may attract new visitors and keep them coming back, a "Secret Shopper" was hired. This industry-savvy individual visited the Area masquerading as a first time skier. He made note of matters good and bad, big and small. In light of his findings, Goddard states that ski class size has been reduced to six; Lesson and Lift packages are now in place; visitor facilities are being restructured; and a new building is on the boards for class space, lockers, rest rooms, etc. This past year was their "best ever" generating $8 million, $1.2 million from summer activities. Sr. Member Ed Chertok reminded us that until 1974 our club sponsored a ski bus to get kids to the Area on weekends.

From last week's captions: Sr. Member Dick Breton is seated next to wife Priscilla instead of the totally fictitious Polly Breton; Dianne Roberts is next to Mike Maguire, not Guest Speaker Greg Goddard.

Sr. Member Dick Breton can even blow the whistle while napping.
