News That Concerns Kiwanians and Their Families

Our February 18th regular meeting was cancelled due to a snow storm and our March 17th regular meeting was cancelled due to the Coronavirus. However, the Laconia Kiwanis Club continues to move forward serving the Lakes Region Community.

On April 7th, we held a Board meeting online using the Zoom Video Communications application. In attendance were: President Meredith Michaud, Betty Ballantyne, Phil Bonafide, Bill Gile, Steve Loughlin, Kara Stanley and John Walker. Not in attendance was Scott Laurent.

The Board voted to make the following donations:
• $500 to Got Lunch! Laconia
• $500 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region
• $600 to Special Olympics of New Hampshire
• $250 to Franklin Comfort Dog Program

On March 5th members of the Laconia Kiwanis Club met at Patrick's Pub with several community residents to discuss our mission and how we help the children in the Lakes Region. At tonight's Board meeting, Meredith, Steve, Kara and Bill reported on the event. All felt it was a beneficial event as good connections were made. (See pictures and summary of the event below.)
